The Minnesota Timberwolves lost game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Golden State Warriors, one of the biggest reasons why is because of the terrible shooting night that the Timberwolves had in Game 1. In fact, even after Stephen Curry left the game after a hamstring injury, the Wolves could never make a comeback. As great as the Timberwolves are, their offense can sometimes be stagnant, and inconsistent, and tonight’s game was the clear result of that. The Wolves attempted 29 threes in Game 1, and made only 5, shooting 17.2 percent.

Another problem that the Wolves had surprisingly, was rebounding the basketball. Despite being a team with a lot of length, they were outrounded by the Warriors, by +10. While they paint great defense inside, the Warriors ended up torching the Wolves from beyond the arc, knocking down 18 three pointers. And anytime you let a non-shooter like Draymond Green make 4-10 three pointers, you know you are going to be in for a long night.

After the game, Wolves’ star Guard Anthony Edwards, was made aware of a team stat that they had, and it had him baffled. What was the stat? Let’s find out.

Anthony Edwards’ Shock at Timberwolves’ Unbelievable Stat

In the postgame conference, a reporter let Anthony Edwards and his teammate, Julius Randle, know about a stat which had Ant is shambles, as he looked completely stunned by what he heard. The reporter said, “You guys have gone 12-76 over the last 2 games… The worst three point shooting in the history of the NBA playoffs, for a team that was 4th in three-point percentage.” And that was enough to drop Ant’s jaw drop to the ground as he said, “12-76, Goddamn!”

The Timberwolves have the chance to advance further than the second round, especially now that the Warriors’ best player is out. All they need to do is be way better than 12-76 from the three-point line, and grab the boards harder and tougher than they have been. Meanwhile for the Warriors, if they want to win going forward, somebody else will have to step up if their superstar, Stephen Curry, doesn’t play in Game 2. While Buddy Hield has been hot in the last two games, other role players like Kuminga, Podz, and Moody, will also need to contribute moving forward.
