Davis has been managing the injury since the summer
The Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling in recent games, currently sitting tenth in the NBA Western Conference with a record of four wins and four losses.
Anthony Davis has been the standout performer for the Lakers, consistently delivering an average of 32.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, in 36.3 minutes per game.
However, during Monday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, Davis aggravated a heel injury, causing him to sit out Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is now being reported that Davis has been struggling with Plantar Fasciitis.
The 31-year-old has been managing the injury since the summer and played through it during the Olympics.

“This is a nagging foot injury for him, heel injury, that he’s been dealing with since the end of last season. Over the summer, [he] played with it in the Olympics”, ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed.
The Lakers say Anthony Davis is probable for Friday’s game against the Sixers. The Lakers are hopeful that the 20-time All-Star will be able to play against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.
“They’re confident — there’s nothing structurally wrong there, but [it’s] something that he’s gonna have to manage, pain tolerance-wise, and they’re hopeful that 24, 48 hours off of that foot will help him going into tomorrow”, Charania further added.

The team is optimistic that a couple of days of rest will help him manage the pain and be ready for the crucial encounter.
