Ange Postecoglou Press Conference – Heung Min-Son and Lucas Bergvall Injury Update, Reflecting on the Season Ahead of the Crystal Palace Clash

Tottenham Boss Discusses Heung Min-Son and Lucas Bergvall’s Fitness, Season Reflections, and Strategy for Crystal Palace Match

Tottenham Hotspur entered the Europa League final after a comfortable victory over Bodø/Glimt on Thursday. With a chance to UCL as the all-English final is set to commence later this month.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has had a season on a string, given the injury problems and the struggle in the Premier League. Moving back to London, Tottenham will host their City rivals, Crystal Palace, on Sunday.

‘Heung Min-Son Could Collect Minutes’ – Ange Postecoglou On the Tottenham Hotspur Captain Returning

Spurs fans will be relieved to hear that Postecoglou confirmed that no injuries have been sustained recently. Moreover, Postecoglou in his pre-match conference also hinted at their captain returning ahead of the London Derby as he gave the injury news.

Yeah, there’s no [fresh injuries], everyone got through OK the other night. Half hopeful that we get Sonny some minutes tomorrow, so he’ll be the only one who sort of can come back in.

On being asked if Lucas Bergvall could return before the Europa League final, Postecoglou continued,

“Yeah, that is unlikely. If we had another two weeks, potentially he could. I am sure he will be trying, I am sure Madders will be trying, mate, just to get the strip on. Unfortunate for both of those guys, but that has been our season.”

“Nothing has run smoothly. I am sure there will be parts of themselves disappointed they are not part of this most important part, but they have been so integral to us getting here.”

With the defence line never totally available and constant injury reports, one could argue that the season has been too rough on Postecoglou. Currently standing 16th on the PL Table, Tottenham will rely on the UEL trophy to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Tottenham have lost two games in the last 10 clashes with Crystal Palace. However, the Eagles got the better of the Spurs in the reverse fixture in October. Postecoglou and his team are coming from a triumph in Norway and will go in for a tough contest against Palace.

The Eagles are on an impressive run with only two games lost since March. Moreover, after beating Aston Villa 3-0 in April, Oliver Glasner’s side will thrive on the away form as they march to North London.
