Anisimova and Noskova Set for High-Stakes Showdown in Beijing Final

Third seed Amanda Anisimova will face 26th seed Linda Noskova in the China Open 2025 final after strong runs from both players. As seeded entrants, they received byes in the first round and carried that momentum deep into the tournament. Anisimova began with straight-set wins over Katie Boulter and wildcard Shuai Zhang. She then overcame 13th seed Karolina Muchova and sixth seed Jasmine Paolini in gritty battles. Her campaign peaked in the semifinals with a commanding straight-set victory over second seed and defending champion Coco Gauff.

Since returning from a mental health break in 2023, Anisimova has been resurgent. The 23-year-old has reached two major finals this season in Wimbledon and the US Open, won the Doha title, and made the London final. She is ranked a career-high No. 4, winning 65.5% of first-serve points and converting 44.4% of break chances.

Noskova is contesting her first WTA 1000 final. She opened with a win over lucky loser Xiyu Wang, then defeated seventh seed Qinwen Zheng, who retired due to injury. Straight-set victories over Anastasia Potapova and Sonay Kartal followed, and she edged past Jessica Pegula in a thrilling three-set semifinal that included a third-set tiebreak.

Noskova, 20, has been steady and striking, reaching a career-high No. 23 this season. With 312 aces in 49 matches and strong Slam results, she offers formidable competition. This final will be a clash of power versus grit as both aim for their biggest title yet.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
