Alvin Kamara Trade Rumors – Saints RB Has a 6-Word Message for All the Trade Rumors around Him!

Devavrat Kulkarni

Saints' RB Alvin Kamara has a clear message of where his next destination lies!

The New Orleans Saints’ 2025 season has not gotten off to a good start by any means. Through 6 games of the season, the Saints are languishing near the bottom of the league with a dismal record of 1-5.

There are several problems affecting the Saints’ ability to win games this season. First and foremost, the sudden retirement of quarterback Derek Carr in the offseason meant that New Orleans had to turn to either Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough under center. While Rattler, who got the nod, hasn’t been too disappointing, it is no doubt a step backward from Carr.

That, coupled with an aging roster, salary cap issues, defensive woes, and problems with keeping drives alive on third downs, has led to the Saints’ difficult start. However, amidst all that is running back Alvin Kamara, who is a hot property for teams looking for a trade at the position.

Alvin Kamara Shuts Down Trade Talk

Heading into week 7, there are several teams facing a crisis at the running back position, either due to injuries or lackluster play. Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara’s name has come up as a potential trade candidate, given his ability and New Orleans’ current record.

However, when asked about a potential trade involving himself, the 30-year-old was quick to dismiss them. The veteran back wants to continue his career only with the Saints, and has even hinted at a possible retirement if he were to be traded, as he stated: “I don’t want to go anywhere!”

“I don’t know where that came from,” said Kamara during a media session ahead of the team’s week 7 matchup against the Bears. “But I don’t want to go anywhere, and I’ve said it countless times. Ya’ll know that, I think everybody knows that, the fan base knows that. … If I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and say, ‘Hey, we’re trading you, just so you know.’ So if Mickey (Loomis) comes down and says that,  I’m going to go drink a piña colada somewhere.”

Alvin Kamara in 2025-26 Season

The Atlanta native continues to be a dominant force with the ball, even in his ninth season in the NFL. So far this year, Kamara has produced 314 yards and 1 touchdown from 83 carries. However, he has also been effective in the passing game with 126 receiving yards from 22 catches.

Kamara would be a valuable addition for any team that needs help in the area, but as far as the player is concerned, Kamara would rather sip piña coladas somewhere, as he put it, rather than play for another team.

The Saints now have a big task on their hands as they will be playing the Chicago Bears in week 7. The Bears, who started 0-2, have pulled off three consecutive wins, including the upset last week against the Washington Commanders.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
