Aliyah Boston Reveals What it Would Take for Fever to Win Game 5 Against Las Vegas Aces

The sixth-seeded Fever are just a win away from clinching a Finals berth.

Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston opened up on what it would take for her team to defeat the Las Vegas Aces in Game 5 of their semi-finals series. On Sunday, the sixth-seeded Fever handed a 90-83 defeat to the second-seeds Aces in Game 4 to force a series decider. The team that emerges on top in the upcoming game will buy a ticket to the 2025 WNBA Finals against the Phoenix Mercury.

After Sunday’s victory, star player had a message on being asked what it will take for them to beat the Aces. “This and more,” Boston told Holly Rowe of ESPN. “I mean just looking at the end of the game, we can’t really have that, especially against a team that has experience in winning championships.”

She added, “So for us, just going back, looking at the film, seeing what we can clean up. But honestly, also being proud of ourselves that we earned ourselves another game.”

As Boston said, Fever cannot afford to make any compromises in Game 5. They would require to execute their strategy perfectly in order to advance ahead. Notably, the Fever dominated the game right from the beginning. In fact, they were 10 points ahead of the Aces in the final 27 seconds of the game. However, at a point it seemed like the Aces could have made a comeback.

Aliyah Boston Reveals Team’s Identity after Game 4 Win

Boston, who led the Fever in rebounds and assists during the playoffs, revealed the team’s identity as Indiana pulled off a crucial win on Sunday. Currently averaging 10.7 rpg, and 4.4 apg through Fever’s seven appearances, Boston said, “We over me.”

The three-time WNBA All-Star added, “That has been our identity the entire season. We all we got, we all we need. And we’ve stuck with it. I think the beauty of this squad, whether you’re hurt or whether you’re not, everything you do is for the betterment of this team, for every win. And that’s really how we approach every single day in practice, how we approach film, how we approach every game.”

The former Rookie of the Year dropped 24 points, game-leading 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals on Sunday. She also became the second player in Indiana’s playoff history to have 20+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists. In the regular season, she dropped an average of 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, on 53.8% shooting from the field.

Talking about the Fever, Stephanie White’s team showed incredible resilience despite losing five key players to season-ending injuries. They entered the playoffs with less than 3% chance of making through the first round. However, as they stand just a win away from being the second finalists, it is to be seen how this team would propel ahead, and end their campaign on a thrilling note.
