Alexander Zverev vs. Tallon Griekspoor Head-to-Head, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP Vienna Open 2025 Quarterfinals

Zverev faces Griekspoor in Vienna quarterfinals after contrasting seasons and form

Second seed Alexander Zverev is set to clash with unseeded Tallon Griekspoor in the quarterfinals of the Vienna Open 2025. The German opened his campaign with a gritty three-set win over qualifier Jacob Fearnley before easing past Matteo Arnaldi in straight sets. Griekspoor, meanwhile, stunned fifth seed Karen Khachanov in three sets and followed it up with a straight-sets win over Brandon Nakashima.

Zverev’s season has been a mix of brilliance and occasional inconsistency. He captured his 24th career title in Munich by defeating Ben Shelton and reached the finals in Stuttgart and Melbourne, falling to Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner, respectively. He has also reached the semifinals in Halle, Toronto, and Cincinnati, along with quarterfinal appearances in Rio, Argentina, Rome, Roland Garros, and Beijing. Despite a disappointing second-round exit in Shanghai, his numbers remain impressive with 508 aces, 74% of first-serve points won, and 41% conversion on 480 break points.

Griekspoor has enjoyed a solid season of his own. He claimed the Mallorca title with a straight-sets win over Corentin Moutet and reached the final in Morocco before losing to Luciano Darderi. Semifinal appearances in Dubai and Challenger Bordeaux, along with quarterfinal runs in Open Occitanie, Indian Wells, Munich, and Nordea, highlight his consistency. Yet, recent form has faltered with early exits, including a recent first-round loss in Stockholm. Statistically, he has tallied 430 aces, won 74% of first-serve points, and converted 35% of 287 break points.

Alexander Zverev vs. Tallon Griekspoor Head-to-Head Record

Alexander Zverev holds a commanding 8-2 lead in his head-to-head against Tallon Griekspoor. Their rivalry began at Wimbledon 2021, where the German cruised through in straight sets. Griekspoor struck back in Rotterdam 2023 with a gritty comeback win, but Zverev reasserted control by taking the next five encounters.

The Dutchman managed to halt that streak earlier this season at Indian Wells, edging out a notable victory. In their most recent meeting at Roland Garros, however, Griekspoor’s campaign ended prematurely as an abdominal injury forced him to retire mid-match, handing Zverev another win.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
