The Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso set an NBA record in Game 4 of the NBA Finals 2025. The Thunder tied the series 2-2 as they defeated the Indiana Pacers 111-104 on Friday, June 13 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The game saw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropping 35 points, and three rebounds for the Thunder while Jalen Williams came up with 27 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Alex Caruso delivered a remarkable performance and dropped 20 points, three rebounds, and five steals off the bench.

He was shooting 77.8% from the field, 50.0% from the three-point arc and 71.4% from the free-throw line. With this gameplay, Caruso entered his name into record books and became the first player in fifty seasons to drop 20+ points and 5+ steals off the bench in an NBA Finals game. This is not it! Caruso chipped in 20 points, three rebounds and one assist in Game 3 of the series. He is now the first player in history to have a pair of 20-point games in the NBA Finals after having zero during the regular season.

He is also the first bench player to have 10+ steals in a Finals series since Manu Ginóbili in 2003.

Alex Caruso Draws Comparison Between Himself and Superhero Robin After Game 4 Performance

Following Game 4, Caruso was asked to pick one superhero that he would want to compare himself with. The 2020 NBA Champion picked the famous comic character, Robin, and said that there might be some similarities between them. He said, “We’ll just do Robin because that seems to be the only one that I can probably make some similarities to cuz I got better players around me that are doing more.”

The 31-year-old added that his only aim in a game is to win, no matter if it is a regular season game or a finals game when the team is down 2-1. He said, “I want to win. I don’t care if it’s picked up in September before training camp. I don’t care if it’s game 45, 50 before All-Star break. If it’s game four of the finals and you’re down 2-1. I want to win and that’s what I’m focused on.”

Caruso is averaging 9.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 19 games he has played for the Thunder this postseason.
