Al Nassr Agree Deal in Principle for Bayern Munich Winger Kingsley Coman

Al Nassr have reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman. As per multiple reports, the deal is expected to be worth slightly below €30m including bonuses. The Saudi Pro League club is finalising personal terms.

Coman is set to sign a three-year contract worth €20-25m per season. If completed, the move would make him one of Bayern’s ten most expensive departures and mark Al Nassr’s fifth permanent signing of this summer. They’ve recently brought in centre-back Inigo Martknez from Barcelona and Joao Felix from Chelsea.

Bayern Munich’s Perspective and Squad Changes

Coman’s exit ends an eight-year spell in Munich, where he made 339 appearances. He scored 72 goals and provided 71 assists in those many games. Coman initially joined them on a loan deal from Juventus in 2015, before a permanent move in 2017.

During his time at the club, the 29-year-old collected 21 major trophies, including nine Bundesliga titles and the 2020 UEFA Champions League. Last season, Coman scored nine goals and provided six assists in 45 appearances. However, injuries limited his minutes.

His reported €17–18m annual salary became a factor in Bayern’s decision to sell. Additionally, the Bundesliga champions have already signed winger Luis Díaz from Liverpool for €70m, and head coach Vincent Kompany is expected to explore further reinforcements to offset Coman’s departure. Speaking at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer, Coman told reporters:

“I said I would like to stay. My contract runs for two more years. In football, the rule is that if you are under contract and you are happy where you are, you are going to stay.” Kompany also praised him, saying: “Kingsley always plays an important role in my squad.” However, it seems the situation changed vastly.

Al Nassr’s Growing Super Team

Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo and coached by Jorge Jesus, are pushing to end their trophy drought by assembling a high-profile squad. Coman will reunite with former Bayern teammate Sadio Mane and join a forward line that already includes Felix and Ronaldo.

The Riyadh-based club has been one of the most aggressive Saudi sides in the transfer market. They’re aiming for domestic dominance and a strong AFC Champions League campaign. With Coman’s big-game experience, Al Nassr’s attack should be able to give other Saudi clubs a run for their money.
