Al Hilal Set Up Club World Cup Quarter-Final Clash with Fluminense – Date, Time, and More

The quarter-final will see Brazilian side Fluminense take on Saudi giants Al-Hilal with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

Fluminense and Al Hilal pulled off shock victories over Inter Milan and Manchester City respectively to secure their places in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals. The two teams ensured that a non-European team will get to feature in the last four of the tournament. Saudi giants Al Hilal stunned defending champions Manchester City in a thrilling 4-3 extra-time victory.

Meanwhile, Fluminense produced a clinical performance to dispatch Champions League runners-up Inter Milan 2-0. Fluminense got off to a dream start when German Cano capitalised on a deflected cross to head through goalkeeper Yann Sommer’s legs in the third minute. Despite Inter dominating possession, Fluminense created the better opportunities with Jhon Arias consistently tormenting the Italian defence.

Inter improved in the second half and Fluminense goalkeeper Fabio rolled back the years with some vital saves. Inter pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but Fluminense defense held firm. In stoppage time, substitute Hercules sealed the result with a composed finish from the edge of the box as Fluminense booked their place in the last eight. Al Hilal and Fluminense will now face off in the Club World Cup quarter-final.
