A’ja Wilson etched her name deeper into WNBA playoff history on Sunday, but her efforts could not prevent the Las Vegas Aces from falling 90-83 to the Indiana Fever in Game 4 of the semifinals. The result tied the best-of-five series at two games apiece, setting up a decisive Game 5 in Las Vegas.

A’ja Wilson played 36 minutes and produced 31 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocks while shooting 14-of-24 from the field. According to reporter Alexa Philippou, she became the only player in league history to record at least 30 points, three steals, and three blocks in multiple postseason games, having first achieved the feat in 2023.

Despite Wilson’s historic stat line, Indiana Fever controlled the game’s key areas. The Fever dominated the glass with 34 rebounds and converted 26 free throws. In contrast, Las Vegas Aces managed just 22 rebounds and eight makes from the line. That difference proved critical as the Aces missed their chance to secure an early trip to the WNBA Finals.

Fever’s Rebounding and Free-Throw Edge Proved Decisive

This physical edge also showcased Indiana Fever’s determination to extend the series, as their aggressive play on both ends consistently disrupted Las Vegas Aces’ rhythm and prevented the 2023 WNBA champions from finding sustained momentum.

Jackie Young supported Wilson with 18 points, nine assists, and five rebounds, shooting 6-of-10 overall and perfect from both three-point range and the free-throw line. Chelsea Gray added 12 points and nine assists, while NaLyssa Smith chipped in eight points and two rebounds.

For Indiana Fever, the physical approach on the boards and efficiency at the stripe carried them through. The Fever’s resilience ensured they stayed alive in the postseason, marking their third elimination-game victory this year.

The Las Vegas Aces will now host the winner-take-all Game 5 on September 30 at 9:30 p.m. ET, with a Finals berth on the line.
