Aaron Rodgers is no longer Jets’ quarterback

Aaron Rodgers' tenure as Jets' quarterback will probably not be remembered.

For several days, the information remained conditional, but it is now official: Aaron Rodgers is no longer the quarterback of the New York Jets.

Aaron Glenn and the new general manager have decided to part ways with the four-time MVP :

“Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback,” Glenn and Mougey said in a statement from the team. “It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and enable each of us the proper time to plan for our respective futures. We want to thank him for the leadership, passion, and dedication he brought to the organization and wish him success moving forward.”

“I personally want to thank Aaron for his time at the New York Jets,” team owner Woody Johnson said. “His arrival in 2023 was met with unbridled excitement and I will forever be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career. From day one, he embodied all that it meant to be a New York Jet, embraced our fans, and immersed himself in our city. That is what I will remember most when I look back at his time here. He will always be welcome, and I wish him only the best in whatever he chooses to do next.”

An unimpressive record for Aaron Rodgers.

Between his serious injury at the very start of his tenure in 2023 after just four snaps and the numerous controversies surrounding his character and allegedly negative influence within the Jets, Aaron Rodgers leaves behind an unimpressive record of 5 wins and 12 losses.

Statistically, the quarterback posted 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 48.1—figures far below his legendary years in Green Bay, making his time with the Jets all the more disappointing.

Now, the big question is: what’s next for Aaron Rodgers? Will he follow in Brett Favre’s footsteps and head to the Vikings? Find a new franchise? Or opt for a well-deserved retirement?
