“I throw up before every game,” Allen told NFL Films. Thompson responded, “Interesting, good for you. That’s not nerves, because I know you’re not nervous.” Allen continued, “It’s not nerves, it’s really weird. I think going back to college, when I played, I’d always have this mucus.

“I threw up before the Detroit game two years ago, preseason. Throughout the game I didn’t have any mucus so I was like, I might have to start doing that. So after every pregame warmup, I go inside and my teammates will watch me and they’ll cheer me on and sometimes I throw up.”

Thompson interrupted in awe and said, “Your teammates will cheer you on when you’re throwing up? Allen stated, “Yeah, ‘Get it out Josh. Get the demons out, I got a couple other guys that throw up as well.”

He even shared his full pregame routine on TikTok earlier this year: “Throw up, listen to my playlist, and drink water.” It’s part muscle memory, part superstition, and fully Allen.
