Sankalp Harikrishnan

All you need to know about the 1000-level tournament in Canada.

Ahead of the final major of the year, the 2025 National Bank Open in Canada is set to enthrall fans around the world. The competition is set to take place between July 26 and August 7. The Canadian Open is a combined men’s and women’s event worth 1000 points on both circuits. It is played on the outdoor hard courts of Toronto and Montreal, with the ATP and WTA tours inter-changing venues each year.

This year is set to mark the 135th edition since the inception of the tournament. It is the second oldest active tennis competition in the world, after the Wimbledon Championships. Up until 2011, the men’s and women’s events at the Canadian Open was held during two separate weeks; however, they are now played together. It continues to be one of the most highly anticipated events on the professional tennis calendar.

Alexei Popyrin and Jessica Pegula are the men’s singles and women’s singles defending champions at the National Bank Open in 2025. In the men’s doubles category, Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos captured the coveted trophy last year. Coming to the women’s doubles section, Desirae Krawczyk and Caroline Dolehide emerged victorious.
