Aces vs Fever: Indiana Stun Las Vegas With Huge Third Quarter Turnaround, Mitchell, Howard Shine

The Indiana Fever snapped their losing streak with a crucial win over the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday. The Aces vs Fever game was held at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.

The game started slowly with both teams struggling to find rhythm on offense. The first quarter score between the two was 18 each. Aces were already coming into this game after a dominant show against the Storm.

But the impact was barely visible on Thursday night. The Las Vegas Aces ramped up their offense and went ahead a little by the end of the first half. They outscored the home side by 23-17.

The Indiana Fever returned from the break with renewed urgency and purpose. It was their third quarter performance that set the victory tone. Through a coordinated team effort, Fever got the lead with a 27-15 score. They held the lead throughout the rest of the game.

Big Third Quarter Breaks Fever Curse

Kelsey Mitchell continued her fine run posting 21 points on Thursday. Natasha Howard posted a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. The Indiana Fever won the game against the Las Vegas Aces by 80-70.

Aari McDonald contributed only nine points but her crucial three pointer turned the game. It gave a breather for the Fever who were on the verge of giving away their lead at one point of time in the Aces vs Fever fixture.

Coach Stephanie White on McDonald’s clutch play said, “That was just a big shot and she shot it with confidence. There was no hesitation and that’s what I wanted to see.”

For the Las Vegas Aces, A’ja Wilson was right on the money scoring 20 points. Jackie Young wasn’t far away in terms of effort with her 19 points. No other Aces player crossed double digits, highlighting their lack of scoring support.
