Chelsea star Cole Palmer admitted he was “a bit confused” after former U.S. President Donald Trump remained on stage during Chelsea’s Club World Cup trophy presentation. The Blues lifted the trophy in New York after a stunning 3–0 win over Paris Saint-Germain, with Palmer scoring a brilliant brace.

Trump, who watched the final alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, took part in the trophy ceremony at MetLife Stadium. But perhaps the most viral moment came when the 22-year-old was caught on camera whispering ‘What’s he doing?’ to a teammate as Trump continued to stand beside the team during the trophy lift. Many Chelsea players shared Palmer’s bemusement, with some exchanging awkward glances during the extended moment.
