On Saturday, July 11, the Chicago Sky (6-13) will host the Minnesota Lynx (18-4) in a WNBA regular-season matchup. The Sky have slipped to the ninth position, whereas Lynx have tumbled to the 12th rank.
The Sky will come into this game after an 87-76 win against the Chicago Sky, as Rebecca Allen exploded for 27 points. On the other hand, Lynx will enter the match after a 91-82 win against the LA Sparks, as MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier put up 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Can Angel Reese lead her Sky past the league’s best Lynx? Check the predictions related to player props, total, and spread here.
The Sky has scored mostly in the late 70s and is among the worst offensive teams. There is room for improvement, but not having Courtney Vandersloot hurts the offensive development. On the other hand, the Lynx isn’t among the high-scoring teams these days.
They are usually projected to score in the early to mid-80s. The Sky defense has improved a lot since the early season. They are conceding around the early 80s.
Meanwhile, the Lynx has the best defense, containing teams below 80 more often than not. The last match-up between the two produced 155 points, and I expect a similar result.
Total: Under 159.5 at BetMGM
Here is an overview of my selections:
| Picks | BetMGM Odds |
| Total U 159.5 | TBD |
| Spread- Sky 8.5 (TBD) | TBD |
| Angel Reese O 15.5 Points | TBD |
| Money Line- Lynx | +165 |
Angel Reese O 15.5 Points: Reese is averaging an impressive 18.6 PPG through the last six games. She has scored at least 15 in all these games. The post-player scored 16 in the last match against the Lynx, and I expect a similar production here.
Napheesa Collier O 22.5 points: Collier leads the league with 23.5 PPG. However, she has scored 21 or fewer in the last three games. I believe she will be up for a 22+ points night in this contest.
Rachel Banham O 10.5 points: Banham is relishing one of her best WNBA stretches lately. She has put up 10+ in five straight games, and I expect her to continue the trend.
Main pick: Angel Reese O 15.5 points at BetMGM
The Lynx has been a terrific team throughout the season. Their ability to play hard-nosed defense hides a lot of their offensive inconsistencies. Meanwhile, the Sky have improved but are still not the team that strikes fear.
Their ability to score inside is something to reckon with, but the team lacks scoring balance. Overall, the Lynx will be overwhelming favorites, but I expect the Sky to cover the spread here.
