Wimbledon 2025 is all set to witness a new Champion on Saturday as the ladies’ final features both first-time finalists Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova.

Swiatek, the 8th seed, reached the final with a statement win against Belinda Bencic in the semis, while the 13th-seeded Anisimova earned a hard-fought three-set win over Aryna Sabalenka in the other semifinal.

Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek has made deep runs at nearly every tournament she has played in this year. However, most of her tournaments have ended with a loss in the semifinals. Amanda Anisimova Looking to Cap a Terrific Grass-Court Season

Anisimova will be contesting her first-ever Grand Slam final, which puts her in uncharted territory. That said, she has won a title at the Qatar Open this year and came into Wimbledon with a loss in the Queen’s Club final and a quarterfinal showing in Berlin.

The American has carried her brilliant grass-court form into the Wimbledon finals, especially after her stunning win against the top-seeded Sabalenka in the previous round. Anisimova started the tournament on a high note with a double bagel win over Yulia Putintseva in the first round, but since then has earned three hard victories over the course of the next five rounds.

Iga Swiatek or Amanda Anisimova – Who Has an Edge in Recent Encounters?

Unfortunately for tennis fans, Swiatek and Anisimova have never played against each other on tour prior to their final at Wimbledon. In the pair’s first-ever meeting, it will be difficult to say which of the two has the edge over the other, given that this will be their first encounter.

Nevertheless, with pure form in mind, as well as the prior experience of not only playing in a Slam final, but winning five times, may give a slight edge to the Pole. It’s safe to say that a lack of motivation will surely not be the deciding factor in the all-important clash.
