The NBA is bracing for a groundbreaking seven-team trade this weekend, one that could redefine the 2025 offseason. With the offseason heating up, Kevin Durant’s move to the Houston Rockets is set to trigger a chain reaction involving six other NBA franchises.

A week earlier, the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets reportedly agreed on a framework involving Kevin Durant, Dillon Brooks, and Jalen Green, setting the stage for wider chaos. That blockbuster deal is expected to set off a league-wide chain reaction, pulling in five other teams and triggering the exchange of picks, rights, and key role players.

Joining the Rockets and Suns in this sweeping transaction are marquee franchises like the Warriors, Lakers, Timberwolves, Nets, and Hawks. According to Jake Fischer, the multi-team NBA trade deal will take place this Sunday.

While we sift through the Jonas Valanciunas developments in Denver, the NBA-record seven-team trade that will send Kevin Durant to Houston has been fully agreed to in principle, sources say.

The Hawks will reportedly receive cash considerations and a 2031 second-round pick swap from Houston, along with a trade exception for Clint Capela. While, the Brooklyn Nets will receive a 2026 and 2032 second round pick from the Rockets again.

In a surprising twist, the Golden State Warriors are also part of the deal, receiving rights to Alex Toohey from the Suns and Jahmai Mashack from the Rockets. While, the Houston based side got Kevin Durant from Phoenix and Clint Capela from the Hawks.

Lakers, Wolves Gain from Durant Fallout

The Los Angeles Lakers get rights to Adou Thiero from the Brooklyn Nets. Minnesota Timberwolves are involved in the trade in a big way with multiple draft picks, roster movement as well. They firstly got rights to Rocco Zikarsky from the Lakers.

Timberwolves also get 2026 and 2032 second round picks from the Suns, and cash considerations from the Lakers. Finally, the Phoenix Suns get Dillon Brooks, and Jalen Green from the Rockets. They also get rights to Khaman Maluach, a 2026 and 2032 second round pick from the Rockets.

The Suns’ haul extends further with the rights to Rasheer Fleming (from the Timberwolves) and Koby Brea (from the Warriors), completing a staggering trade bonanza.
