Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has announced that he will not renew his contract with the club. With the Englishman’s contract expiring, Calvert-Lewin will become a free agent starting July 2025. Joining the club in 2016, Calvert-Lewin played over 250 games for the Merseyside club.

Having impressive numbers in the tenure, Calvert-Lewin struggled due to injuries in recent years. Known for winning the most aerial duels in the 2024-25 Premier League season, his goal tally dropped to 18 over his final three seasons due to injuries and Everton’s tactical setup under Sean Dyche.

The Beginning: A £1.5M Bargain from Sheffield United

Everton and Calvert-Lewin’s journey began in August 2016 when the club acquired the then-19-year-old. Signing him for Sheffield United for a relatively modest fee of £1.5 million, Calvert-Lewin had a breakout year in the 2017-18 season. Making 44 appearances—more than any other Everton outfield player. He scored eight goals while also providing six assists.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, departing Everton as a free agent, played 273 matches, scoring 71 goals and providing 22 assists, with 57 Premier League goals in 235 appearances.
