Former Real Madrid and Wales International player Gareth Bale is eyeing an interesting return to football. With eyes set on his boyhood club Cardiff City, Bale has admitted to having an interest in owning shares of Cardiff City in his recent interview. Bale who grew up in Cardiff has expressed immense interest in being involved with the Welsh Club as he looks to take it to the next level.

A report earlier this week suggested that an investment group involving Bale initially inquired about a potential deal earlier this month. However, Tan rejected this offer, suggesting that he currently holds the upper hand and is prepared to reject offers that do not align with his preferences.

Bale’s Dream Come True: Owning Cardiff City FC

Bale who appeared in over 100 games for the Welsh International is possibly the biggest footballing figure in the country. Admitting to his interest in Cardiff, Bale in his latest interview said:

“We are interested in getting Cardiff. It’s my home club, it’s where I grew up and my uncle used to play for them. To be involved with an ownership group would be a dream come true.”

“It [Cardiff] is a club close to my heart. It’s where I grew up and I would love to be able to be a part of growing Cardiff and taking it to the Premier League where it belongs.”

Bale also talked about being known to Welsh Football as he emphasised on hope to get involved with Cardiff City. Talking about Welsh football and fans, Bale in his interview continued:

“I know how amazing the Welsh fans and Cardiff fans are. It would be amazing to try and do something together. We are trying to engage with Cardiff and more news will come out on that in the future but hopefully we can get something done.”

Transitioning ownership involves operational challenges, such as integrating new management structures, aligning staff, and maintaining team performance during the change. Bale’s vision includes taking Cardiff back to the Premier League, which requires a long-term strategy for squad building, youth development, and financial sustainability.

Bale’s involvement could be seen as a positive by many fans due to his status as a local hero, but any new ownership must navigate the existing fan sentiment towards Tan and ensure that changes align with fan expectations.
