| Jalen Brunson O 27.5 points | -110 | – |
Jalen Brunson has been the engine leading the New York Knicks offensively this season. He has dropped 28.4 points on an average through 13 games he has played for the Knicks thus far. Brunson has been shooting 47.6% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range. In the recent game against the Magic, the two-time All-Star came up with 33 points on 57.1% shooting from the field and 33.3% from deep. In fact, he has had three 30+ point games in the last five contests.
Though Brunson was restricted to 19 points during the Knicks’ previous meeting with the Nets, he is currently in great form, and we can expect him to finish with 28 points or more on Monday.
The Brooklyn Nets are having a disappointing campaign this season, where they have only managed to win three games so far. The Nets are sitting at the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standings, and are desperately seeking wins. However, their current struggles aren’t something new, and it is what has been happening with the team since they moved to Brooklyn in 2012. Though they managed to make conference semifinal trips twice, the Nets, in short, have been a very inconsistent team. The franchise has time and again tried to build a winning team, but their experiments have turned out to be colossal failures all the time.
Though we are just a month into the season, and there is considerable time for them to improve. But considering how badly they have been struggling, finishing the season amongst the top seems nearly impossible for them. Talking statistically, the Nets have one of the worst offensive and defensive ratings in the league.
On the other hand, we have the New York Knicks, who despite having a few hiccups every now and then, have been consistent. They have won nine out of 15 games thus far, and are seeded sixth in the Eastern Conference. Players such as Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and others have been displaying all-round prowess on the court.
The reigning Eastern Conference finalists have the third best offensive rating of 119.7, but their defensive rating puts them towards the bottom half. However, the Knicks recorded a lopsided win over the Nets during their previous meeting, and considering how things have been going on with the hosts, we can expect the visitors to repeat their heroics.
Predictions: New York Knicks to win.
