Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green has been ruled out long-term after re-aggravating a hamstring injury. The setback is expected to keep him sidelined for four to six weeks, halting momentum just as he had returned to the lineup.

Jalen Green had already missed the first eight games of the season with the same injury, during which Phoenix struggled to a 3–5 record. His comeback lasted only two games before the recurrence, suffered against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

The timing is frustrating for the Suns, who saw immediate flashes of Green’s potential in his first full game back. He scored 29 points in just 23 minutes, showing strong chemistry alongside Devin Booker and offering a glimpse of what the backcourt could become.

Jalen Green arrived in Phoenix as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to Houston, with the Suns viewing him as a cornerstone for the future. His track record in Houston showed that promise.

Last season with the Rockets, he averaged 21 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 42.3 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three. That production helped Houston secure the second seed in the Western Conference and established him as one of the league’s most promising young guards.

This latest injury marks unfamiliar territory for Jalen Green. Known for his durability, he played all 82 games in each of the past two seasons. His reputation as a reliable presence has been challenged by the hamstring issues that have now twice interrupted his debut campaign in Phoenix.

Booker and Suns Teammates Rally To Support Jalen Green

Despite the setback, teammates have rallied around him. Devin Booker, who has endured his own injury struggles earlier in his career, was among the first to voice support. “It’s tough. I’ve definitely been through it. We’re going to rally around him. He’s been putting in a lot of work to get back there on the court,” Booker said.

The Suns organization views Jalen Green as a long-term piece, and his brief debut reinforced that belief. His ability to mesh with Booker in the backcourt was an encouraging sign, even if injuries have delayed the partnership. At just 23 years old, Green’s ceiling remains high, provided he can regain full health.
