Mavericks and Spurs will begin their regular-season campaign on Wednesday, October 22.
The Dallas Mavericks are set to tip off their NBA 2025-26 regular season campaign by locking horns with the San Antonio Spurs in a high-octane clash on Wednesday, October 22. The Mavericks finished the previous season with a poor 39-43 record after letting go of Luka Doncic in a blockbuster trade and the majority of their superstar players suffered horrific injuries.
Having acquired Cooper Flagg as the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Mavericks enter a brand new season with hopes and high expectations. The rookie headlines a roster filled with big players like Anthony Davis, PJ Washington and Derrick Lively. Despite the fact that they will be without big-time guard play, owing to Kyrie Irving’s injury, the Mavericks are a scary team that should find its place in a highly-contested Western Conference.
Always.

On the other hand, the San Antonio Spurs, who had a disappointing campaign during the last season, have seemingly announced their arrival in the 2025-26 season. While preseason isn’t the real test, the Spurs went undefeated during the preseason campaign. Apart from it, the Spurs have Victor Wembanyama making his return following a short campaign in the previous owing to a blood clot in right shoulder.
They also have Dylan Harper, the second pick in the draft, Luke Kornet and Kelly Olynyk, who will add depth to their roster. This season, they will aim to chase their first postseason appearance in six seasons, which is the longest drought in the Western Conference.
As the game tips off at 9:30 pm at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, let’s go through the injury updates and availability status of players including Anthony Davis, Wemby, and others.
