“This Feels Really Good”- Steve Kerr Shows Confidence in Current Golden State Warriors Roster

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opened up on the current roster of the team. Kerr sounded comfortable with the roster he has assembled for the upcoming NBA 2025-26 season. He appeared on the Mark Willard and Dan Dibley radio show, where he told the hosts that he “loves the roster”.

“I love the roster. And to be honest, over my 12 years, I’ve been incredibly blessed with great rosters year in and year out. It’s not always a picture-perfect fit. I think the last few years, the fit has been a little tricky at times but this feels really good. The puzzle definitely fits well this year,” Kerr said.

Talking about the main star of his roster, Stephen Curry, Kerr said, “He (Steph) just always looks great… I think the biggest thing when you’re 37 is maintaining the level over the course of 82 games. And it just gets harder and harder and at some point everybody runs into Father Time. And the important thing this year is for us to really navigate the season.”

The Warriors’ roster for the 2025-26 season combines a mixture of aging stars and new talents. Names such as Draymond Green and Stephen Curry remain central, whereas new additions such as Al Horford, Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield add veteran depth. Apart from them, young stars such as Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Trayce Jackson-Davis will be expected to shoulder more responsibilities.

Steve Kerr Talks About Al Horford’s Addition to Warriors Roster

The Warriors head coach also talked about their newest addition, Al Horford, a former All-Star and now projected starter for Golden State. Horford comes from championship experience, most recently helping the Boston Celtics lift their 18th title in 2024. His ability to stretch the floor, score from deep and play defense on the rim compelled the Dubs to sign him.

Kerr talked about Horford, and revealed what it means for the star player to be a part of the roster. “I think every player in the league would love to play with Steph Curry… I think it’s a perfect fit for us. And we were thrilled that he (Al Horford) felt that way and wanted to come here,” Kerr said.

Horford, 39, isn’t the most versatile scorer in the league but his defensive skills are exactly what the Warriors need right now.
