Alcaraz in Command and Reflective After Another Statement Win

When reflecting on his favorite moments of the year, the 22-year-old highlighted his Roland Garros win as his best moment of the year, along with Monte Carlo. “When I won Roland Garros, that was a great moment for me. When I won Monte Carlo… I came from losing in Miami, and I was able to come back mentally and physically and play great tennis,” Alcaraz shared. “I’m gonna choose those moments from this year.”

Having lost to Fritz in the Laver Cup earlier this season, Alcaraz responded in emphatic fashion. Dominating the baseline rallies, pulling the crowd to its feet with creative shotmaking, and closing out both sets with authority. The Spaniard admitted afterward that his main goal was simply to entertain. “Playing great shots was one of my objectives today,” he said. “I just wanted to show my best tennis, use my drop shots, my running forehands, my backhands down the line.”

His win now sets up a potential rematch with Jannik Sinner. One that could continue a thrilling rivalry that has already defined the 2025 season with finals at Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open. But Alcaraz kept things diplomatic when asked who he thought would prevail in the other semifinal.

“Well, it’s one of the best matchups we have in tennis right now,” he smiled. “It’s gonna be great, interesting. I’m gonna enjoy that match. Both are playing great. I’ll let the people choose who’s gonna be the winner next match.”
