Thomas Sorber
Thomas Francis Sorber, born on December 25, 2005, in Trenton, New Jersey, USA, is an American professional basketball player. His family has roots in Liberia, where his late father, Peter Sorber Sr., was a notable soccer player. Thomas also has a brother, Peter Jr., who played basketball at Morgan State University and Lincoln University (Pennsylvania). Sorber’s basketball journey began in Trenton, New Jersey, at Trenton Catholic Academy. After his freshman year, he transferred to Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his sophomore year at Archbishop Ryan, Sorber excelled by averaging 16.5 points per game and leading the Philadelphia Catholic League in rebounds. For his college career, Sorber committed to Georgetown, playing for the Hoyas from 2024 to 2025. As a freshman, he showcased his potential with averages of 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. His performance earned him recognition, including being named to the Third Team All-Big East and the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2025. On March 27, 2025, Sorber declared for the 2025 NBA draft, initially maintaining his college eligibility but later deciding to remain in the draft. He was a highly anticipated prospect and was ultimately drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA draft. He currently plays as a center for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA, with his professional career beginning in 2025. He wears jersey number 12, stands 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) tall, and weighs 249 lbs (113 kg).
