‘This Kid Talks and He Runs His Mouth’ – NFL Analyst Calls Out Shedeur Sanders over Comments He Is Ready to Start in the NFL!

Could Shedeur Sanders start for the Browns as Joe Flacco continues to struggle?

In light of the Cleveland Browns’ struggles on the offensive side of the ball, there is growing speculation that the team should consider starting either Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders in place of Joe Flacco.

Last week, Sanders was asked whether he was confident enough to be a starter in the professional league. The 23-year-old responded with confidence and even said he knows that if given the chance, he could play better than what the quarterback play has been in the league so far.

Sanders’ response generated backlash in the media, in particular by former football coach turned analyst Rex Ryan, who was visibly upset on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ show.

Rex Ryan Lashes Out Over Sanders’ Response

As mentioned above, ESPN’s analyst Rex Ryan spoke at length about Cleveland’s quarterback situation and called for the benching of Joe Flacco. With Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel waiting in the wings for their turn, Ryan believes now is the time to make the change.

The former coach also questioned why Sanders is not starting for the Browns despite the talent he possesses under center. According to Ryan, it has more to do with his behavior and attitude that is holding him back. Criticising Sanders for potentially sitting in the back with the scout team receivers in meetings and other such actions may be the reason he is not getting the job.

“Something’s missing with this kid. This kid talks. He runs his mouth like he’s a I could be a starting quarterback with his arms crossed like this,” Said Ryan before continuing his outburst. “Get your xxx in the front row and study and do all that. If I know the whole league knows. Quit being an embarrassment that way. You got the talent to be the quarterback.  You should be embarrassed that you’re not the quarterback now.”

Is Shedeur Sanders’ Attitude Costing Him the Starting Quarterback Role in Cleveland?

The NFL media and experts of the game talking about Sanders’ overall attitude and how it is holding him back is nothing new by now. All through the draft process, once Sanders started to slide, stories about his personality and the negativity it could bring to an organization started coming out.

There are basically two camps for Sanders: one that doesn’t believe in his talent altogether, and the other that does but is hesitant to take a chance due to his personality, which comes across as arrogant rather than confident.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
