Tyreek Hill exits Monday Night Football on cart
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill left Monday Night Football on Sept. 29 with what was initially feared to be a season-ending knee injury. Recent reports have confirmed that the Dolphins’ WR1 will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee dislocation and multiple torn ligaments.
Tyreek Hill went down in the third quarter against the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium. He was carted off and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation and observation.
The play occurred when Tyreek Hill caught a short pass to the right sideline. A Jets defender hauled him down, and his left leg bent awkwardly underneath him. He was quickly ruled out with a left knee injury. As the cart left the field, Hill clapped to encourage Dolphins fans.

At the time, the Miami Dolphins held a 10-3 lead. Three plays later, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa connected with Darren Waller for a nine-yard touchdown, extending the advantage to 17-3.
Hill’s absence leaves a major hole in the Miami Dolphins’ receiving corps. Jaylen Waddle becomes the top target, but depth behind him remains uncertain.
Tight end Darren Waller, seeing his first action of the NFL season, stepped up with two touchdown catches on the night. If he regains his old form, Miami may have a temporary solution in the passing game.
Rookie Malik Washington has emerged as the team’s third receiver in 2025. The Dolphins will be looking for him to improve further and handle more responsibility in Tyreek Hill’s absence.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, signed as a free agent after a productive season with Tennessee, has yet to find his rhythm in Miami. Receivers Dee Eskridge and Tahj Washington also remain options, though neither has provided consistent production so far.
With Tyreek Hill now sidelined for the rest of the year, Miami could look externally for help to reinforce the unit. For now, the team must rely on Waddle and others to keep the offense balanced even as they explore further options.
