“Be a Professional” – Isis Young Calls Out Angel Reese in Fiery Exit Interview Take Amid Chicago Sky Uncertainty

Akash

The Chicago Sky’s turbulent season ended with more questions than answers, and at the center of it all is forward Angel Reese. The star, who averaged a double‑double in her first year, had become both the face of the franchise and a rod for criticism. Her decision to skip the team’s voluntary exit interview has fueled speculation about her future in Chicago, especially after weeks of public tension between Reese and the organization.

Angel Reese was not alone in declining the session with veterans Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins also opted out, but her absence drew the most attention. The Chicago Sky finished with one of the league’s worst records, and Reese had already voiced frustration with the roster and direction of the team.

She was even suspended late in the season for comments deemed “detrimental,” that highlighted the growing rift between player and franchise. With trade rumors swirling, her decision to bypass the exit interview only intensified such chatter.

Isis Young Calls Out Trend of Skipped Interviews

Former Syracuse guard and broadcaster Isis Young weighed in on the growing trend of WNBA players skipping exit interviews, using Angel Reese’s case as a prime example. “If you’re a professional and you want us to treat you like a professional, be a professional and do the exit interview,” Young said.

Exit interviews are voluntary, but they serve as an opportunity for players to reflect on the season, address the media, and set the tone for the offseason. By skipping them, players avoid uncomfortable questions but also risk appearing disengaged from the process.

Chicago Sky General manager Jeff Pagliocca has said he expects Angel Reese to remain with the team, noting that she is under contract for two more seasons. Still, the uncertainty lingers. Reese’s public comments about needing “great players” around her, combined with her absence from the exit interview, have fueled speculation that she may be pushing for change, or even an eventual move elsewhere.
