Josh Allen Surpasses Patrick Mahomes with Record Breaking Milestone Achievement

Josh Allen breaking records for fun!

Josh Allen is the heartbeat of the Buffalo Bills’ offense, and with good reason, too. In the Thursday Night Football game against divisional rivals, the Miami Dolphins, the reigning NFL MVP not only reached yet another milestone, but also broke a record in the process.

Allen is the Fastest to 300 Total Touchdowns

The 29-year-old started the game against arch rivals, the Dolphins, on the right foot. Completing consecutive drives with touchdown passes to Dalton Kincaid and Jackson Hawes, Allen became the fastest player in the history of the league to reach the 300 total touchdowns milestone.

The record previously belonged to one of Allen’s fiercest competitors, Patrick Mahomes, who reached the same milestone in 128 games. The Bills’ signal caller, however, achieved the same in 127 games, which also includes the playoffs

Eventually, Allen finished the game with 3 passing touchdowns, and in the process of doing that, he also broke another record. The California native now has 45 total touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins, which is a record against a single opponent for the first 15 starts against that team.

Incidentally, this record previously belonged to Dolphins legend Dan Marino. The former Miami quarterback had 42 touchdowns in his first 15 starts against the New York Jets.

How Josh Allen Has Made the Bills Contenders

After the departures of wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis during the 2024 offseason, the Bills were written off by many since Allen was the only key piece left on the offensive side of the ball.

However, the former seventh overall pick not only managed to keep the Bills in playoff contention, but he also led them to the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

With no big-name receivers to work with, Allen was instrumental in leading the offense, building strong chemistry with the likes of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid, and others. Using his arm and his legs, Allen has been carving opposing defenses at ease. And while his last season’s heroics led to the MVP award, he has continued exactly where he left off from the 2024 playoffs.

If the Bills are to progress to a return to a first Super Bowl since the 90s, Allen is the key. And with James Cook’s solid run game to back him up, defenses now have to worry about stopping Cook as well as the dual-threat ability of Buffalo’s superstar quarterback.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
