The 2025 Laver Cup is set to take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, United States. It will be the eighth edition of the premier competition that features Team Europe taking on Team World. This year, the Laver Cup has undergone minor changes – with Yannick Noah and Andre Agassi making their debuts as team captains. Can this year’s event live up to the hype?

Team Europe are the defending champions at the 2025 Laver Cup. They dethroned Team World by winning the tournament with a 13-11 scoreline, and grabbing a 5-2 lead in the overall head-to-head over the years. Prior to the 2024 edition, Team World had gone back-to-back at the Laver Cup. With the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur set to make their presence felt, the 2025 Laver Cup promises a whole lot.

The 2025 Laver Cup will be played across three days – between 19 September and 21 September, 2025. Each day will have two sessions, and each session will feature two matches. Here is the daily schedule:

Laver Cup 2025 Format

The Laver Cup is a unique men’s team competition which features some of the best tennis players from Europe and the rest of the world battling it out for regional glory. Both teams are captained by a legend of the sport – they are in charge of player selection, determining the daily lineup, team leadership and overall morale.

The tournament is played across three days, and the first team to reach 13 points wins. On Day-1, each win is worth 1 point; on Day-2, each win is worth 2 points; on Day-3, each win is worth 3 points. Matches are played in a best-of-three format with ad scoring. If the first two sets are split, the winner is decided by a 10-point match tiebreaker.

Three out of the six players per team are determined by ATP Rankings after Roland Garros; if a Top-3 player wishes not to participate, the offer is extended to another top ranked player. Meanwhile, the other three players per team are determined by captain’s choice.
