Chiefs vs Chargers Prediction : Find out our analysis for the game in Brazil.
The 2025-26 NFL season bursts onto the scene with an electrifying showdown as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5 at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After a stellar 15-2 campaign in 2024, the Chiefs are driven to maintain their stranglehold on the AFC West, chasing a 10th straight division title. With Patrick Mahomes steering a dynamic offense, the Chiefs are ready to chase their fourth Super Bowl ring.
The Chargers, revitalized by Jim Harbaugh’s leadership, ride the momentum of an excellent season in 2024 that earned them a playoff berth. Bolstered by key additions like Najee Harris and a stout defense, Los Angeles aims to dethrone Kansas City and claim their first AFC West crown since 2009.
| Recommended Bets | BetMGM | FanDuel |
|---|---|---|
| Total Points (Under 46.5) | -110 | -113 |
| Justin Herbert Over 31.5 passing attempts | -130 | -114 |
| Kansas City Chiefs -3 Spread | -118 | -115 |
The reason I’m take under 46.5 is because the last three Chiefs vs Chargers games produced 36, 27, 25 points, suggesting a defensive battle. Both team are facing some challenges with Jalen Royals missing the game, while the Chargers’ weakened defense and dependence on Ladd McConkey to produce may not flare well. Then add the fact that both teams are playing at a neutral site, with no home crowd, makes this a safe bet.
Coming to the second bet, Herbert’s consistent volume as we have seen in the 2024 season is a reason enough to believe that he could go for over 31.5 passing attempts in the game. I’m also expecting the Chiefs to cover the spread as they have won seven straight matchups against the Chargers and the ability to win by a field goal or more makes the -3 spread a safe bet.
We are just days away from NFL international games which will be played in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And it will feature the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Los Angeles Chargers. For the Chiefs, they are looking for a bounce back season after losing in a horrible fashion against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super LIX. The Eagles never even let the Chiefs come close and the 40-22 final score, does not fully tell the story of the kind of whooping the Eagles handed over to the Chiefs. Going into the offseason, the Chiefs were left with a lot of uncertainty as Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, was not sure if he would return for another season at the time. However, new season means new aspirations and goals and we all know the Chiefs are going to come out looking for blood!

Meanwhile, for the Chargers had a strong season in 2024, finishing second in their division with a 11-6 record, a stellar improvement compared to the 2023-24 campaign where they finished with a terrible record of 5-12, last in their division. Their QB Justin Herbert showed great improved with his efficiency last season as he finished with the lowest interceptions and highest QB rating in his five year NFL career. Going into year number six, he will try improving those numbers even further and see where he can lead this team. However, all in all, the Chargers have not lived up to the expectations so far and a win over their divisional rivals would do wonders, as they’ve lost 7-straight games against the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are favored to cover the spread against the Los Angeles Chargers in their 2025 Week 1 neutral-sit game in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Despite offseason turnover, the Chiefs’ consistently strong offense outmatches the Chargers’ depleted defense, which lost key players like Joey Bosa.
The Chargers’ offense, reliant on Ladd McConkey after Joshua Palmer’s departure, may falter. The Chiefs’ spread is the pick, as the neutral site doesn’t change the fact that the Chiefs are a much better team on both sides of the field.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
