Alexander Isak Liverpool Contract Details: Transfer Fee, Salary and More

Abhinav Goel

Liverpool have agreed a record transfer fee with Newcastle United to sign Alexander Isak. The Reds have landed one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers as part of their ambitious summer rebuild. The Swedish international will join the Reds after a standout spell in the Premier League with Newcastle. Isak will now spearhead Liverpool’s attack under Arne Slot.

Isak scored 23 Premier League goals last season, second only to Mohamed Salah. Isak has cemented himself as one of the league’s deadliest strikers over the past three seasons. The Swedish striker will now undergo medical tests on Monday, bringing his long-anticipated move from Newcastle to the brink of completion. This marks the conclusion of a summer-long transfer saga. The signing will stand as a major statement of intent from the Premier League champions.

Transfer Fee

  • Fee: £130m ($176m/€152m)
  • Liverpool’s transfer fee for Alexander Isak surpasses Chelsea’s £106m signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in 2023. It will make Isak the most expensive player in Premier League history.
  • Newcastle had rejected a £110m bid earlier this summer but eventually accepted Liverpool’s improved offer, helped by their signing of German forward Nick Woltemade for a club-record £69m.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are paying a fixed fee of £125m for Alexander Isak, with no add-ons included in the agreement. The total value rises closer to £130m for Newcastle due to solidarity payments, but the Reds’ commitment is strictly set at £125m.

Salary

  • Isak is expected to earn around £300,000 per week base salary plus performance-related bonuses at Liverpool.
  • His deal puts him among the top earners at Anfield, alongside Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Contract Length

  • Length: Six years

The 25-year old will sign a six-year contract at Anfield, keeping him at the club until June 2031.

Despite not yet firing on all cylinders, the Reds have opened their Premier League title defence with three wins from three, including a narrow 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday. Newcastle, meanwhile, sit 17th after a goalless draw with Leeds United.
