England Squad Announcement: Trent Out, Djed Spence and Elliot Anderson Earn their First Call, and More

Mayur Dedwal

Thomas Tuchel will take his second campaign with the England National Team in September 2025. Facing Andorra and Serbia, Tuchel has announced his England squad that he will take to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers Round 5.

To the surprise of many, some big names have been left out of the squad that will take the centre stage. With veteran names like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Phil Foden missing out, Tuchel has given a chance to Djed Spence and Elliot Anderson to prove themselves for their country for the first time.

Fan reactions on X have been a whirlwind of emotions—some applaud Tuchel’s bold vision. With a 100% record in three games for England, Tuchel will look to keep the young lions on winning ways. Tuchel’s selections suggest a tactical evolution, but the real test lies ahead on the pitch.

While the exclusion of Alexander-Arnold and Foden has raised some eyebrows, newcomers like Spence, Anderson and Madueke will look to earn a name for themselves as the clash with Andorra in Birmingham on September 9, 2025, awaits.
