Tottenham Hotspur are moving closer to completing a high-profile deal for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with negotiations reportedly advancing quickly. Spurs are prepared to offer a package worth around £55m plus add-ons, though Palace are insisting that a significant portion of the fee be paid up front.
Thomas Frank’s side made an impressive start to their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Burnley on opening weekend, courtesy of a brace from Richarlison and one goal from Brennan Johnson. Summer signing Mohammed Kudus also impressed on the right wing. Despite their strong start to the season, Tottenham are keen to bolster their attacking options further.
The departure of captain Son Heung-min to LAFC, combined with James Maddison’s long-term ACL injury, has left big gaps in the Tottenham forward line. As a result, Tottenham have identified Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze as a viable solution to their troubles. Eze, with his flair and ability to operate between the lines, is seen as the ideal solution.
Tottenham are set to speed up their push to sign Eberechi Eze, with talks expected to move forward in the next two days. The two clubs have been in discussions since the start of the week, and negotiations are reportedly going well. Tottenham are increasingly confident that a deal for the 27-year-old is close.
Reports suggest that while Spurs are hopeful of negotiating a deal below the £60m release clause (plus £8m in add-ons), Palace are determined to secure a large initial payment. The 27-year-old attacker has been central to Palace’s rise under Oliver Glasner, scoring the winning goal in last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Palace may need to make a decision quickly, with Eze’s inclusion in the squad for their clash against Chelsea on Sunday now in doubt. Eze joined Palace from QPR in 2020 for £19.5m and has since become one of the Premier League’s standout attacking talents. Last season, he scored 14 goals across all competitions, taking his overall tally for the Eagles to 40 goals in 168 appearances.
For Spurs, the England international represents not only a replacement for Maddison but also a long-term attacking weapon who could elevate their creative output. His composure, ability to evade pressure and knack for producing decisive moments would fit seamlessly into Thomas Frank’s plans for an ambitious rebuild.
