Portugal and Spain Clash in the UEFA Nations League 2025 Final – Who Will Claim the Title?

Portugal will take on tournament favourites Spain in the UEFA Nations League 2025 final in Munich on June 8, 2025. Roberto Martinez will have a mountain to climb as they look to clear Spain’s unbeaten record against them since 2004. 

Coming into the finals, Spain recorded a 5-4 victory against France in the final four of the Nations League. Taking down the mighty French in a thriller contest, Luis de La Fuente and his side will beam with confidence. Portugal thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo winner knocked home side Germany out in a 2-1 semifinal victory.  

Portugal Injury News 

Portugal’s playmaker Bruno Fernandes sustained an ankle injury following a tackle in the clash against Germany. The Manchester United man is doubtful to appear there is no news of him being ruled out of the finals. 

Martinez will have the same squad from the semifinal having most of their attacking prowess on duty. Joao Cancelo being out of the tournament will be the only confirmed absence.

Spain Injury News 

Spain hasn’t reported any new or major injuries coming into the finals against Portugal. They will have all of their squad from the semifinals available for the clash. 

La Fuente is expected to start Fabian Ruiz from the bench to avoid fatigue given he played the UCL final. Pedri and Martin Zubimendi will expected to take midfield as Rodri also remains out on Iong injury. 

Spain Predicted Lineup

Ronaldo will possibly appear in the UEFA Nations League for the final time in the finals against Spain. Having an opportunity to guide Portugal to their third International and second Nations League trophy, the 40-year-old will be keen to impact the finals at Allianz Arena, Munich. 

Spain having a ferocious side with Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams in top form will come into the clash as a stronger side. But regardless of the squad’s strengths, Portugal can never be ruled out of the contest given the experience.
