Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Becomes Only the Second Player To Set Rare Record After Historic Champions League Final Win

PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia etched his name into UEFA Champions League folklore on Saturday night. The Georgian winger was among the scorers in Paris Saint-Germain’s dominant 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan at Munich’s Allianz Arena. It was a landmark victory for the French side that earned them their first-ever Champions League title.

Kvaratskhelia slotted in the fourth goal of the match after latching onto a pass from teammate Ousmane Dembele. Notably, the skillful winger became the first-ever Georgian player to score in a UCL final. Remarkably, Kvaratskhelia also set another unique record which has only been achieved by one player before.

Kvaratskhelia’s Rare Record After Champions League Final Win

The Champions League final victory was a historic moment for Kvaratskhelia. He completed an extraordinary quadruple for the 2024–25 season: winning four trophies with two different clubs. Before joining PSG in January, Kvaratskhelia featured in 17 Serie A games for Napoli and scoring five times. His time at the Italian club was enough to earn a Serie A winner’s medal as Napoli clinched the Scudetto. Since arriving in Paris, he’s added the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles to his collection, and now, the Champions League.

The only other player in history to accomplish such a feat is Alvaro Odriozola. The Spanish full-back won La Liga with Real Madrid in the 2019–20 season before moving to Bayern Munich. Odriozola then lifted the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League trophies at the German club.

Kvaratskhelia’s brilliance capped off a historic night not only for himself but for Paris Saint-Germain too. With goals from Achraf Hakimi, a brace from Desire Doue, and a late strike by teenager Senny Mayulu, PSG became the first team to win a Champions League final by a five-goal margin.

Kvaratskhelia’s dazzling displays on the biggest stages, particularly in Europe, have been central to PSG’s success this season. Now, with four trophies in the bag, Kvaratskhelia could yet add a fifth title in 2025 with the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon.
