WNBA Finds No Evidence of Racist Behavior Towards Angel Reese During Fever-Sky Game

WNBA has not found any evidence of racist comments directed towards Angel Reese.

The WNBA said that it didn’t find any evidence of racist comments directed towards Chicago Sky star Angel Reese from the game against the Indiana Fever on May 17. Notably, following the Fever’s 93-58 win over the Chicago Sky earlier this month, the league launched an investigation after there were allegations of hate speech made by someone from the crowd towards Reese.

However, sharing the latest update on the investigation, the WNBA released an official statement and that they couldn’t find any evidence of the reported behavior. The statement read, “We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court. Based on information gathered to date, including from relevant fans, team and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.”

Sky president Adam Fox appreciated “quick action by the league and the Indiana Fever to take this matter seriously and to investigate.” Notably, it was never specific when the alleged acts happened during the game, but things got a bit dramatic between arch-rivals Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Angel Reese Shares Cryptic Message After Sky’s Fourth Loss

On Tuesday, the Chicago Sky suffered their fourth loss of the season, after they fell to the Phoenix Mercury. Following the loss, star forward, Angel Reese shared a cryptic seven-word message on X. She tweeted, “God has a plan. Day by day.” Notably, while the Sky suffered another loss of the season, Reese entered her name into the history books.

As she finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists, the 23-year-old became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 rebounds and 500 points. Reese took only 38 games to achieve the feat, and with this, she surpassed the previous record set by Tina Charles. Charles reached the milestone in 44 games, six more than Reese.
