The Denver Nuggets will face the Oklahoma City Thunder for Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals and we have some devastating news to share for the Nuggets’ fans. The Nuggets have been battling a lot of adversity ever since the start of the playoffs. First the Nuggets fired their head coach Mike Malone, at the very end of the season, and there were some serious questions about them heading into the playoffs. Fortunately for them, their current head coach, David Adelman, somehow kept them focused in the playoffs so far, and they came out on top against the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs. Although the Clippers took the Nuggets all the way to Game 7, the 2023 NBA champions found a way to beat the Kawhi Leonard led Clippers.

In the second round, the Nuggets have given the 68-win Oklahoma City Thunder team, a tough fight as the Thunder are trying to get to their first Western Conference Finals round, with the current roster. The Nuggets somehow managed to beat the Thunder in a critical Game 6, which was a do or die game for them. Contributions from Christian Braun and Julian Strawther, have given them a chance to beat the Thunder and knock them out of the playoffs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. However, another road bump has hit the Nuggets as their forward, Aaron Gordon, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Let’s find out more.

Aaron Gordon Has a Grade 2 Hamstring Strain and Needs Several Weeks to Recover From the Injury

Nuggets’ forward, Aaron Gordon, is listed as questionable tonight as it has been determined that Gordon is suffering through a Grade 2 Hamstring Strain, which will take a month, at least, to fully recover. The Nuggets’ playoff star has been trying to find ways to play through the injury, but now it is becoming physically quite impossible for Gordon to play on with the injury, according to NBA Insider Sham Charania.

This is an extremely upsetting news for the Nuggets team and the fans, as they are trying to capture their second NBA championship in 3 years. Gordon has been averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, on 48.5 percent shooting from the field, 38.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.1 percent from the free throw line. Gordon has knocked down several game tying or go-ahead baskets to help the Nuggets win playoff games, and he is one of the most vital players for the Nuggets’ playoff success.

If Gordon is out for the rest of the playoffs series, the Nuggets’ chances to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder is much less than it was before. Gordon is a lob threat, an excellent defender, and in the playoffs he’s also been making most of his shots, shooting extremely well. If Gordon doesn’t play tonight in the win-or-go-home Game 7, we expect David Adelman to start Russell Westbrook in place of Gordon.

If Gordon doesn’t play in Game 7, the size difference between the two teams could be too huge for the Nuggets to overcome the Thunder. So the Nuggets’ role players have to step up tonight, which includes Russell Westbrook, Julian Strawther, and Peyton Watson, as without them, the Thunder can blow them out of the building.
