Crystal Palace have made every football fan stand up on their feet as they lift their first-ever major trophy. Beating Manchester City thanks to the goal by Eberechi Eze, the Eagles are the winners of the FA Cup 2025. Oliver Glasner, who took over in 2024, will go down as one of their greatest just months into the job.

Soaking up all the pressure from Manchester City, Glasner’s team managed to block every attack that came their way. Manchester City attempted 23 shots throughout the game as Dean Henderson kept them at bay. Owning the ball for 78% of the game, Pep Guardiola and his men failed to break the deadlock set by Glasner.

‘They Never Lost Belief In Me’ – Oliver Glasner After Crystal Palace Win the FA Cup 2025

Reflecting on the game, Glasner recognised the hard work his team put in through the 90 minutes. Defending from the back, the Eagles dealt with City in a disciplined manner after taking the lead.

Addressing his team’s efforts, Glasner in his post-game interview said:

“I can’t believe it, we had to defend so much. The spirit and togetherness on the pitch were amazing.”

“It was all about being patient, we analysed that if you give them the pocket, they are so good. We had to be patient, let them cross, defend and wait for the moment to attack.”

“Special credit to the players, they’ve never lost belief in me and the coaching staff,” he said.

Glasner had a heartfelt message for Crystal Palace’s fans as it will be a night of celebration in South London. Saying that this is all for the fans, Glasner continued:

“The biggest success we can have is not winning the trophy, it’s that we could give thousands of our fans a moment of their lives. We can give them great times. Maybe they have some problems, we give them hours and days, they can forget all of this, just being happy.”

Glasner will lead Crystal Palace to their first-ever appearance in the Champions League 2025/26 season. With the celebrations for now, the Austrian will be proud of his group going down in the history books.
