Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 1 Sneak Peek and Lineups

Can the Warriors craft another glorious story against the steely Wolves?

At the beginning of February, many would have scoffed at the thought of the Golden State Warriors making it to the West Semis and the Los Angeles Lakers exiting in the first round. But such twists and turns enrich the NBA experience.

Jimmy Butler’s addition was huge during the trade deadline, he changed the team on both ends for good. The Playoff version of Butler remains as lethal, and the Warriors couldn’t have defeated the Rockets without him.

As for the Timberwolves, they dusted off the Lakers despite some so-so performances from ace Anthony Edwards. The frontlines of Jadien McDaniels, Julius Randle, and Rudy Gobert showed up big in different games, heavily outperforming the Lakers’ front line.

Their defense was stellar as they held the Lakers to 104 or under in four of the five games(Under 100 in 3). Meanwhile, the Warriors were also amazing on defense. They contained the Rockets to under 100 in three of the seven games, but did allow 109 and more on three occasions(131 in one instance).

At the same time, they also received some lifting performances from role players, especially from Buddy Hield, whose 33-point outburst in Game 7 was huge. Credit to coach Steve Kerr for trusting a player who has misfired on various occasions. Overall, we are in for a spicy series.

Timberwolves Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Mike Conley | SG: Anthony Edwards | SF: Jaden McDaniels | PF: Julius Randle | C: Rudy Gobert

Key bench players: SG: Donte DiVincenzo, SG: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, C: Naz Reid

Injuries/Updates: Nothing significant to report

Warriors Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Stephen Curry | SG: Brandin Podziemski | SG: Buddy Hield | SF: Jonathan Kuminga | PF/C: Draymond Green

Key bench players: SG/SF: Moses Moody, PG: Gary Payton II, SF: Jonathan Kuminga, C: Quinten Post

Injuries/Updates: Jimmy Butler is QUESTIONABLE.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Total Over/Under Prediction– NBA Betting Picks

As stated above, both defenses were brilliant in the first round. But there is no doubt that Minnesota is a better defensive team, considering they are younger and athletic.

However, even though the Rockets were the more athletic team than the Dubs but they still found a way to score 103 in more in five straight games. But the number isn’t high like the Wolves’ 115+ in three of the five games against the Lakers.

Overall, I see a scoring range in the late 200s and early 210s. The bookmakers also concur with this range and have placed identical odds around 210. I will take the “Under” to begin the series.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Player Props Predictions- NBA Best Picks

Stephen Curry to put up over 26.5 points: The Warriors Point Guard averaged 24 PPG in the last series. He went under the stipulated scoring projections on four of the seven games. I expect Curry to go “over” the mark here.

Anthony Edwards to score over 28.5 points: The Timberwolves guard has put up 26.8 PPG in five games against the Lakers. He went over the projections on just two occasions, but I expect him to sizzle here.

Jimmy Butler to grab over 6.5 rebounds:  Butler grabbed 6.8 rebounds per game in five games (excluding the game where he was injured early). He went “over” the projections on three of the five occasions. I believe he will go over here.

Main pick: Jimmy Butler O 6.5 rebounds for -110 at BetMGM

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 6 Prediction- Betting Lines

The Timberwolves will be sky-high after knocking out Luka Doncic and LeBron James. The same can be said for the Warriors, who took out the second-seeded Rockets, who are much deeper than them in most departments.

Expect a grueling battle here. Both teams are battle-hardened and highly motivated. Ironically, they finished as sixth-seven squads, proving the depth of West again.

At any rate, I expect the Timberwolves to win, but in a close battle. The spread is -6.5 in their favor, however, I believe the Dubs to cover it, which is the main point here.

Safe Spread Pick:  Warriors +6.5 for -105 at BetMGM

Betting Lines:

Spread: Timberwolves: -6.5: -115. Warriors: +6.5: -105

Total: 209.5: 0: -105. U: -115

Player Props: Points: Jaden McDaniels: 13.5. O: -110. U: -120.
