Cleveland Cavaliers vs Miami Heat Injury Report- Big Update on Heat Forward Ahead of 2025 Playoffs Campaign Opener

Garima Ranawat

Here is the injury report for the Heat and the Cavs ahead of their opening first round game.

The 2025 NBA Playoffs kicked off on April 19, and the opening day saw a couple of thrillers, setting the tone right for the remainder of the season. The Eastern Conference table toppers, Cleveland Cavaliers are all set to begin their campaign, against the eighth-seeds, Miami Heat. The Cavs set their dominance right from the beginning of the regular season, and finished with a staggering record of 64-18 to make it to the playoffs for the third consecutive year.

On the other hand, the Heat reaching the playoffs was no less than a miracle. They were last in the play-in bracket of the East, and as they made it to the playoffs, they became the first 10th place team to ever advance ahead of the play-in tournament. Miami took down the Chicago Bulls in their first do-or-die play-in game. After the win, they locked horns with the Atlanta Hawks, who were coming on the back of a loss to the Orlando Magic. The Heat continued their winning prowess and took down the Hawks to book the playoffs’ first round clash with the Cavs.

As their coach, Erik Spoelstra, said, “We’ve been through a lot. We’ve all been through probably as much as a team probably can go through.” The team wouldn’t want to make an early exit from the playoffs, and aim for a better playoff season than the previous year.

Before the game, let’s go through the injury reports of both the teams.

Cleveland Cavaliers Injuries

The Cleveland Cavaliers are going to enter the first playoff game with a full-fledged healthy roster. According to the official report, there is no injury for the Cavaliers and all the players are healthy and available for the game.

Miami Heat Injuries

The Miami Heat, who have had a curvy and uncertain season, would aim to not repeat last year’s campaign. The Florida-based side would play their first playoffs without Jimmy Butler since 2020 after they traded him to the Golden State Warriors. Seeing how Butler has flourished with the Dubs, the Heat would certainly miss him.

While they have listed Alec Burks, Haywood Highsmith, Nikola Jovic, and Pelle Larrson, the Heat would be without forward Kevin Love.

Love has been listed out of the upcoming game citing personal reasons. The 36-year-old power forward has averaged 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists this season.
