Sacramento Kings vs Portland Trail Blazers Match Preview

Kings: Will they lose their Play-in spot?

The Sacramento Kings will come into this game after a disappointing 16-point loss against Oklahoma City Thunder in yet another offensive crashout as the team shot just 40.7% from the field. Vets Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan combined for a 7/27 shooting(25.9% shooting). Such shooting slumps have resulted in a four-game losing streak, and in March, the Kings suffered two such losing spells, which have impacted their play-in chances.

Malik Monk has missed the last three games, whereas Sabonis is struggling through an injury. The duo of Zach LaVine and DeRozan has clicked but hasn’t received ample support. The Kings don’t defend well and have allowed opponents to shoot 50% from the field(4th worst) and 42% from the three-point range(1st) in March.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Malik Monk | SG: Zach LaVine | SF: DeMar DeRozan | SF: Keegan Murray | C: Domantas Sabonis

Key Injuries/Updates: Malik Monk is a Game-Time Decision.

Trail Blazers: In a fix, but have put the league on notice

The Portland Trail Blazers enter the affair after an 11-point loss against East table toppers Cleveland Cavaliers despite an 18-point, 12-point performance by Donovan Clingan. They have lost two in a row after a four-game losing streak, but a six-game losing streak before has resulted in a 5-8 record in March. Thus, they have followed a season-long trajectory during the month.

The offense has been a bit of a problem. The team has tallied 111 points per game(9th worst) in March but has given up around 115 PPG in return. The offensive deficiencies can be attributed to the lack of strong PF and C, but the team has set an encouraging template. The guard-forward quartet of Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, Deni Avdija, and Scoot Henderson hasn’t tapped into its full potential, showcasing a ton of promise. The team can use them as trading options to land a high-caliber player or build around them.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG/SG: Anfernee Simons | SG: Shaedon Sharpe | SF: Deni Advija |  PF: Toumani Camara | C: Donovan Clingan

Key Injuries/Updates: Jerami Grant, DeAndre Ayton, and Robert Williams III can be OUT.

Sacramento Kings vs Portland Trail Blazers Total Over/Under Prediction

The Kings have been prone to some sub-par 100-ish esque nights these days, despite having all the tools to score 115+ regularly. Meanwhile, Portland also has an unstable scoring lineup but often overachieves in contrast to the Kings. Defensively, the Trail Blazers can be better than the Kings, limiting teams around 115 or so, while Sacramento constantly gives up 120+. Overall, I see a battle in the 230s here.

Sacramento Kings Player Props Predictions- Projected Top Bets & Odds

DeMar DeRozan to score over 24.5 points: The mid-range specialist has tallied 23 PPG in March but has scored 22 or below in four straight games. However, I expect him to be in the 25-28 range.

Domantas Sabonis to dish over 6.5 assists: The Kings’s big man has dished 6.1 assists per game in March, constantly figuring in double-digits range. I believe he will be able to hand over 8-11 helpers here.

Portland Trail Blazers Player Props Predictions – Projected Top Bets & Odds

Deni Advija to put up over 21.5 points: The Trail Blazers’ guard has accumulated 23 PPG in March, over 7 points from his season average. I expect him to get in this month’s scoring range here.

Donovan Clingan to grab over 10.5 rebounds: The Trail Blazers’ center has cleaned 9.5 boards per game this month. I expect him to hoard 11-13 rebounds here.

Sacramento Kings vs Portland Trail Blazers Match Prediction

The Trail Blazers are 12-23 away from home, but the Kings have an underwhelming 18-19 record at home. Both teams need to get their act together right now to make the play-in tournament. Sacramento has a higher chance and will likely be locked in to get the job done. I believe they will win by 7-10 points here.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
