UEFA World Cup Qualifiers: Norway vs. Israel – Injury News, Injury Update, Predicted Line-ups and More

Mayur Dedwal

Israel and Norway will meet for an official game for the first time since 1996.

Norway will face Israel in their second game of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. After registering a comfortable 5-0 win over Moldova, Ståle Solbakken’s side will be keen to complete the break on winning terms.

Israel managed to best Estonia thanks to a late winner in their first matchday. Having managed to win only three games in their last 10, their coach Ren Bin Simon could turn the tides should he manage to get something out of this contest.

The second matchday of Group 1 will be the final game before the players return to club football. Leaving on a positive note to keep the momentum building would be crucial for both teams.

Norway Injury News

Not all was right in Norway’s 5-0 win over Moldova as centre-back Leo Ostigard sustained an injury in the first half. Although the insights into his injury are not known, Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer is expected to replace Ostigard against Norway.

Norway boss Solbaken also talked about having respect for Israel’s team. Describing the versatility in their squad, Solbakken said:

“Israel is a team with an identity and we saw it in its games against Belgium and France. It has good players, Solomon can play in several positions, and it has strikers with different characters. We respect it.”

Erling Haaland’s instrumental run for Norway continued as he found the net against Moldova. He continues to increase the gap on Norway’s all-time list as he clinched his 39th goal for the country.

Norway Predicted Lineup: Aasgaard; Heggem, Ajer, Ryerson, Donnum; Berge, Ødegaard, Schjelderup; Sørloth, Haaland, Nyland

Israel Injury News

Israel coming from a victory against Estonia is expected to keep the same lineup. Having sustained no injuries or suspensions, Ran Ben Shimon’s side will be fully equipped to face Norway.

Players like Manor Soloman and Oscar Gloukh should be watched out for given the attacking prowess they possess. Former Tottenham man Maksim Paskotsi has also excelled opening the scoring against Estonia.

Israel Predicted Lineup: David; Revivo, Nachmias, Dasa, Shlomo; Abu Fani, Jaber; Solomon, Biton, Gloukh; Peretz
