Celtics, Cavaliers continue their winning streaks in the new season.
It was another action-packed day in the NBA. While the Boston Celtics extended their winning run, LeBron James’ Lakers suffered their first loss of the season against Kevin Durant’s Phoenix Suns. Here is a look at the top performances and highlights from each matchup.
The Boston Celtics are now 4-0 with a statement win over Milwaukee on Monday. Despite the Bucks’ star duo Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard combining for 66 points, Boston’s balanced play secured them an 11-point victory. Payton Pritchard shone with 28 points.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers also advanced to 4-0 with a hard-fought win over the New York Knicks. Darius Garland put up 34 points, looking every bit an All-Star and perhaps the biggest challenger to Boston’s Eastern Conference throne this season.
In other action, Kyle Kuzma was a force for the Washington Wizards with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in a tight 121-119 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
The Dallas Mavericks found their rhythm as Kyrie Irving scored 23 points and Klay Thompson added 18, helping secure a 110-102 win over the Utah Jazz. However, it was a night to forget for the Utah Jazz, as Taylor Hendricks suffered a severe leg injury and left the game on a stretcher.
Paolo Banchero carved his name into Orlando Magic history with a career-high 50 points in a 119-115 victory against the Indiana Pacers. With 37 points in the first half alone, Banchero joins the elite club of players to score 50 points in a game.
