After the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the NFL off-season has officially begun. There are various teams that need a lot of improvement in their roster but one that will always be the most important is hiring a quality quarterback. There are many quarterbacks who are/maybe available like Aaron Rodgers for example. The Jets waived the 41 year old and his tenure in New York was not something we are used to seeing.

We will list the 10 best free agent quarterbacks this offseason. So without further ado let’s get right into it.

Who are the 10 best quarterbacks available this offseason?

Sam Darnold- After resurrecting his NFL career playing for the Vikings, there are huge questions going forward for him and his team. While he had a stellar season, the team also has J.J McCarthy and it will eventually come down to choosing between the two QBs. If Darnold gets waived from the Vikings, he will have plenty of options in the free agency as many teams would gladly him.

Sam was a Pro Bowler this season and had a 102.5 passer rating.

Justin Fields: Fields played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. After getting benched for Russell Wilson, Fields only started in 6 games last season. However, Fields is just 25 years of age and a little bit of faith and proper QB development program, could go a long way for him. We have seen countless NFL players revive their NFL careers so why can’t Fields?

Aaron Rodgers- At this point we do not expect Aaron Rodgers to be who he was in his MVP seasons. The man is already 41 years old. He had a horrible time playing for the Jets as they did not even sniff the playoffs last season. It is clear that he is on a steady decline. However, many teams may still try to acquire him as he is still one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. If not, he may just retire after all.

Jameis Winston: After playing for 10 seasons in the NFL, Winston still thinks that he is a starting caliber quarterback. Even though his numbers never reflect on the win-loss record, Winston has thrown over 5000 yards once, and still produced for 2000 plus yards last season. As he is only 30 years of age, teams may want to give him a try.

Russell Wilson: Gone are the days where Wilson was a Superstar QB in the NFL. He’s still good, don’t get us wrong, but not enough to remain a starting quarterback in our opinion. He might have to pack his bags again this off-season and take another one-year deal as a starter or most likely a backup, at this point of his career.

Marcus Mariota: Jayden Daniels is undeniably the QB1 for the Commanders but he also needs a solid backup QB and Mariota has perfectly filled his role so far for Washington. However, he was only signed with the Commanders for one year and it is unclear whether they’ll resign him again. If the Commanders fail to present a reasonable offer to their backup QB, many teams would happily accept his services.

Tyler Huntley: Huntley is also one of the best backup quarterbacks available in the NFL. He played his role out perfectly for the Dolphins last season and letting him go would be a mistake for Miami as their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa just played in 11 games last season, due to injuries.

Kirk Cousins: After signing a 4-year $180 million deal with the Falcons, Cousins is expected to be on his way out. They brought in Cousins expecting a championship but he was rather benched in Week 16 of the regular season.

Jacoby Brissett: Drake Maye looks like he’s on his way to stardom but every team needs a reliable backup QB. Brissett, the veteran, has played his role well for the Steelers but he had only signed a one-year deal with the team.

Joe Flacco: Flacco had signed a one year deal with the Indianapolis Colts and mostly played as a backup for Anthony Richardson. Even at 40 years of age, he can still be a reliable backup as he posted over 1700 passing yards last season.

Matthew Stafford is another quarterback who could be moved from the Rams. However, these are just speculations at this point of the off-season and we shall know more soon.
