LeBron James creates NBA history during Knicks-Lakers game

NBA superstar and Lakers guard, LeBron James adds another milestone in his illustrious career during Lakers’ 128-112 win over the New York Knicks. The veteran guard recorded a triple-double with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists.

LeBron James dropped his second triple-double after celebrating his 40th birthday on Dec. 30. The Lakers legend is now the first player in NBA History with multiple triple-doubles at 40 or older.

LeBron James becomes the seventh player in NBA history to reach 2,500th 3-pointer Saturday night. He surpassed Kyle Korver into seventh place on Dec. 4 in a game against the Miami Heat. LeBron James would now target to cross the Hall of Fame Indiana Pacers star, Reggie Miller, who had 2,560.

The veteran guard now has the 2nd most triple-doubles (4) at Maddison Square Garden, only behind Larry Bird (6). He also has four 30-point triple-doubles this season, the second-most by any player. Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic has seven 30-point triple-double this season.

It was LeBron James’ 10th triple-double of the season and second since turning 40. His previous triple-double was recorded against the Washington Wizards on Jan. 21. The NBA’s career scoring leader also became the oldest player to record a 30-point triple-double.

Los Angeles Lakers snapped the New York Knicks’ four-game winning streak on Saturday night without their key player, Anthony Davis. LeBron James & Co will now head to Inglewood for the inter-city rivalry against LA Clippers on Feb. 4.
