Tua Tagovailo will not play in week 7 but maybe at some point in the 2024 season
Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion sidelining him since Week 2. At that point, early retirement was discussed for Tua but recent update is showing a different path.
Instead of retirement, Tua Tagovailoa is expected to come back during 2024 season according to Head coach Mike McDaniel.
“There’s still information that he’s seeking this week,” McDaniel said. “As far as timelines go, I know he’s not playing this week and I do expect to see him playing football in 2024, but where that is exactly we’ll let the process continue since we still have time before we could even entertain anything.”
This is the first time since the concussion that coach McDaniel has ever talked about a return for his quarterback. Without him, Dolphins have gone 1-2, defeating only the New-England Patriots in week 5.
However, Dolphins have no interest in rushing for a quick return as Tagovailoa’s health is the biggest concern at this point due to his history on concussions. Since he started in the League, Tua Tagovailoa has already suffered three major hits at his head.
After his third concussion in Dcember 2022, the league has altered the protocol on how the concussion were reported.
Another concussion could have dramatic effect on his health and not only in the long term.
