With one week rest, will Jared Goff and the Lions stay hot ?
After having a perfect night during Week 4, Jared Goff and the Lions are going to Arlington trying to stop a 6 game losing-streak against the Cowboys (3-2).
Here is an early view of Lions vs Cowboys prediction, picks and odds.
For this NFC matchup, the Lions (3-1) are the favorite (-170) after routing the Seahawks in Week 4, 42-29. Coming off a bye week is never an easy tasks but Dan Campbell’s team will surely be ready to face the highest paid quarterback in NFL history.
The Lions have showcased a well-rounded offense, ranking seventh in passing yards per game and excelling on the ground with their running duo, David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
With Jared Goff under center, Detroit averages 26 points per game, though they have struggled against strong passing attacks, ranking 27th in passing defense.
This could present an opportunity for Dallas’ QB Dak Prescott, who has been efficient, especially with CeeDee Lamb in the receiving corps, as Lamb thrives against man coverage – something Detroit uses at one of the league’s highest rates.
Dallas, currently a slight underdog, has a home advantage but has struggled defensively against the run, allowing 135 rushing yards per game.
They are also coming off close wins but have faced issues closing out scoring drives, which may be tested against a Detroit defense ranked fourth against the run. However, Dallas has a strong red zone presence that could capitalize on any Lions’ defensive lapses.
For bets, consider the Cowboys covering a +3 spread, or look at team totals, especially for the Cowboys to exceed 24.5 points, given their offensive potential against Detroit’s secondary. With both teams capable of high scores, the total points line of 52.5 could also be a smart “over” play if you expect a high-paced, offensive game.
